Who is Eligible to Register

All Admitted, new freshman will automatically be entered into the Vandal Friday priority registration group. This group will allow new freshmen to register for Fall Semester 2008 classes beginning March 27, 2009 at 8 am. The VandalWeb registration period will continue through the beginning of the Fall 2009 semester.

Removal of Advisor Holds

Advisor Holds will prevent registration on VandalWeb; therefore the advisor or department must remove advisor hold as soon as the student is advised. This may be done either using VandalWeb or Banner, but will not be done automatically.

There are other types of holds that can prevent VandalWeb registration access. Determine what type of hold it is and then proceed to the corresponding office or department for resolution.

Registration for Summer 2009

Vandal Friday students who wish to register for Summer Session courses should contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office so that their admission term can be changed to summer instead of fall semester. Students cannot register for a term prior to that which they are admitted.

Important Registration Note:  Vandal Friday students who will begin attendance during the summer must register for their summer courses first, then register for their fall courses. If a Vandal Friday student decides later not to attend summer session, they must contact either the Undergraduate Admissions Office or the Registrar's Office. Without this step, their fall registration could be compromised.

Student Schedules

Students are encouraged to print their Fall 2009 schedules after successful registration, but should be warned to check the information and reprint their schedule as they arrive on campus in the fall. Numerous room and schedule changes are made between April and August and this double-check will alleviate frustrations and confusion as the semester begins.

VandalWeb, VandalMail, and Student Lab/Blackboard

All Vandal Friday students who wish to register for the Fall 2009 semester must do so through VandalWeb. Students who are having login/PIN problems should try the Online PIN Reset first and if the problem persists, personally contact the Registrar's Office at (208) 885-6731 for assistance.

Most students will have already setup all of their Vandal accounts prior to Vandal Friday.  If a students still needs to activate their accounts, they should use VandalSetup.

By registering for classes, the student has created an agreement with the UI for payment; those students who decide not to attend should drop their courses on VandalWeb or request to cancel their registration; students are not dropped for non-payment.
